UNTITLED (NOTES ON THE DEATH OF A FRIEND,
FROM THE AUTHOR), 2021

Untitled (notes on the death of a
friend from the author)

35 mm black and white film
three panels, 300 x 200 mm each

Engaging with the methodology of re-creation and realising this as a means of finding solace through connecting past to present, the images pay homage to Eve Arnold’s ‘CHINA. Chungking (Chongqing) Sunday’ (1979). Beside a rising sun the subjects waltzed to the silence of the city and commemorated the moment as undefined. Captured using 35mm black and white film, this artwork ‘Untitled (notes on the death of a friend from the author)’ reminds us that we can persist and will always find ways to be reunited once more.
